Tweet! Tweet!- Our class writing activity that allows for the kids to “tweet” me by writing me a message and putting into our bird, Tweety’s cage, is a huge success! The kids are writing me the sweetest notes (thank you kids!), writing questions about upcoming assignments, talking about being excited for upcoming activities, and writing some very cute jokes. Writing can be fun! 🙂

DONATIONS: Our class will need those who are able to donate snack items, candy for treats,  and treasure chest items all year long.  Please know in advance that these items are greatly appreciated and enjoyed by the children. They are as follows:

Snack Items: Crackers, dry cereal, fruit snacks, raisins, snack bars, etc.

Candy: Anything that is not “hard” candy. Candy is used occassionally as a treat/reward in class.

Treasure Chest Items: Unopened “kids meal” type toys, small toys used for birthday party gift bags, stickers, pencils, etc.

BEHAVIOR CHARTS: Please remember to check your child’s folder and sign or initial on each calendar day of your child’s behavior chart.

PTA MEMBERSHIP: Please support your child and the school by joining PTA. Cost is $5.00 per person.

TRANSPORTATION CHANGES: Any changes in how your child will be transported from school must be sent to the school in writing.

BOX TOPS:  Our school is now collecting Box Tops! We are hoping to collect enough to fund new playground equipment. The class who collects the most will also win a pizza party (or etc.), so let’s get busy collecting. For a list of Box Tops items, click the following link:

HAND WASHING / SICKNESS:   Please encourage your child to wash his/her hands thoroughly, use hand sanitizer when they have coughed or sneezed, and to cover their mouths/noses when coughing and sneezing. Please remember our school guidelines concerning when a child should come to school and when they should stay home.

WINTER WEATHER:  The snowline phone number for Bristol Virginia Public Schools is 276-821-5999. In the event of a 2 hr. delay, students may not be dropped off before 9:45 AM. If a 2 hr. delay needs to be changed to a closure, the system will update by 7 AM.
