Class News

During the year, I will post what we are currently studying in our classroom news section, as well as upcoming events, items needed, and etc.  Please check this section often as it will change often.

BOX TOPSOur school is now collecting Box Tops! We are hoping to collect enough to fund new playground equipment. The class who collects the most will also win a pizza party (or etc.), so let’s get busy collecting. For a list of Box Tops items, click the following link:  http://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/clip/brands.aspx

SUNNY DELIGHT LABELS:  Our class is collecting Sunny Delight labels to earn 20 free books for our classroom library. We will collect these labels through October. For more detailed information, click the following link:  http://www2.scholastic.com/browse/article.jsp?id=3752342

FALL FESTIVAL: You’ve heard me rant and rave about the upcoming Fall Festival. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it! There will be 4-6 inflatables (depending on weather conditions), a cake walk, bingo, face painting / tatoos, an art activity, a sandy candy station, and a chance for you to have your picture taken as “Max” from “Where the Wild Things Are”. Everyone will receive a free treat bag. You are not going to believe the decorations!  We will have food for sale (hot dogs and fixings).  Come and enjoy October 17th from 3:00-7:00!

DONATIONS: Our class will need those who are able to donate snack items and treasure chest items all year long.  Please know in advance that these items are greatly appreciated and enjoyed by the children. They are as follows:

Snack Items: Crackers, dry cereal, fruit snacks, raisins, snack bars, etc.

Treasure Chest Items: Unopened “kids meal” type toys, small toys used for birthday party gift bags, stickers, pencils, etc.

BEHAVIOR CHARTS: Please remember to check your child’s folder and sign or initial on each calendar day of your child’s behavior chart.

PTA MEMBERSHIP: Please support your child and the school by joining PTA. Cost is $3.00 per person.

TRANSPORTATION CHANGES: Any changes in how your child will be transported from school must be sent to the school in writing.

HANDWASHING / SICKNESS:   Please encourage your child to wash his/her hands thoroughly, use hand sanitizer when they have coughed or sneezed, and to cover their mouths/noses when coughing and sneezing. Please remember our school guidelines concerning when a child should come to school and when they should stay home.
